Nick Mattiello: Promises Made, Promises Kept
I love our city and work hard every day to ensure that our quality of life in Cranston continues to improve, from having a stronger economy and cutting taxes, to investing in our public schools, to enhancing services for our seniors.
Four years ago, when I asked for your vote, I promised that we would eliminate the burdensome car tax. I initiated a six-year phase-out – Cranston vehicle owners have already saved more than $10 million and 22,000 vehicles in the city are no longer taxed at all. Each year your car tax bill will be reduced until the tax will be completely eliminated in 2022. This will save Cranston vehicle owners $21 million per year!
Throughout my years of serving you, I have listened carefully and worked tirelessly for Cranston and Rhode Island. There is still much more to do, and I look forward to talking with you about your priorities.
